Discovery Beach is manned by Council Lifeguards from September through to May, 7 days per week.

Mudjimba Beach , approximately 1 km south of the motel, is patrolled year round.

Water temperature ranges from a maximum of 24 degrees in summer to about 18 degrees in winter.

Local surf casting fishermen enjoy good catches of Bream, Whiting and Dart throughout the year. Our area is well serviced by several excellent bait and tackle outlets where advice on the best spots is readily available.
